Deposit Shield Privacy Policy

Effective October 20, 2026

Deposit Shield ("the app") helps renters document the condition of a rental. This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: your inspections, photos, notes and signatures never leave your device unless you choose to share them.

Data stored on your device

This data is stored only on your device and in your device's backups (iCloud or computer backup, if you have them turned on). We have no servers and no user accounts, and we cannot see, access or recover this data.

Camera and photo library

The app asks for camera access to photograph your rental, and uses the system photo picker to let you choose existing photos. Only the photos you pick are copied into the app.

Advertising

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect device identifiers (including the Advertising Identifier, only if you allow tracking), IP address, general location derived from IP, and ad interaction and diagnostic data. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

When you first use the app you may be asked:

Buying Deposit Shield Pro removes all ads, and the ad SDK then makes no ad requests.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment information.

Sharing

When you share a report, it is sent through the iOS share sheet to the destination you choose (for example Mail or Messages). That destination's privacy policy then applies.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Deleting your data

Delete a property in the app to remove its inspections and photos, or use Settings → Delete all data. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.
